I understand that, for the sake of argument, we?re assuming a concept of god compatible with Judaism, Christianity, Islam and related traditions. So I don?t need to provide any rationale in favor of an assumption agreed upon. From that assumption, we can agree that to allow a degree of liberty is to allow a degree of error. A god can then correct for errors by introducing new revelation in the form of new scriptures or new interpretations of previous scriptures. But in an universe where there are free agents, any divine action will meet various degrees of resistance, even from those who claim to serve said god. And if you assume a covenant-making god, then you must assume a dialectal revelation because a divine-human covenant is a mutual agreement between an infallible part (the god) and a very much fallible part (humans).
Does the universe have a purpose?
