You can ask anyone and they will tell you that I’m an optimist. I have the ability to make friends with douche bags and assholes and frequently, I have given money to the most sickly drug addicts and drunks begging on the street. Some people think it’s wrong, but I say, “So What?” Just like Miles Davis. Forget about lending, I believe in giving. I wrote a song about that.
As I entered into being born, my father was leaving his life, and as we passed each other on the mortal coil, he brushed his hand on my back. It left a birthmark right here. See?
“Tequila” might have been playing on the car radio when he crashed because that was the number one song at the time. He loved the Dukes of Dixieland, New Orleans jazz and stereophonic sound.
I am not a musical purist. I love all kinds: good, bad and ugly. Sometimes ugly is beautiful. I believe a well-timed mistake can let you in on a secret, and sometimes that can be a wonderful thing.
Sometimes I feel like a well-timed mistake and there’s a man floating above a light post with a crashed car memory fading somewhere along Taunton Avenue.
PS – I’ll play anywhere, anytime. Ask around
